In mid-August 2020, we headed to the Buttle Lake area of Strathcona Provincial Park. It is to the west of Campbell River, about a 4-hour drive from Victoria. We camped, we hiked, and we saw waterfalls. We pushed ourselves physically and then enjoyed the views, while sipping fireball like V. The complete lack of cell service forced us to be off the grid for a few days and helped us forget that we are in the midst of a global pandemic (except for the 20 second handwashing after every trip to the outhouse, of course). A great weekend away to enjoy the end of summer!
