Nova Scotia
Blue Route – Bike Network
A provincial cycling network in Nova Scotia that is currently under development. Parts of the routes are on trails, but the majority is on paved roads, often with no shoulder.
We’ve created a map highlighting the surface type for various segments. We’ve also created a dedicated blog post where we share links to the GPS tracks on Komoot and Ride With GPS.
Harvest Moon Trail – Bike Trail
A 110 km multi-use trail from Grand Pré to Annapolis Royal. The route is part of the “Blue Route” in Nova Scotia, but trail conditions aren’t suitable everywhere for hybrid bikes.
We’ve created a map with trail info and pictures. We’ve also shared some of out experiences in a dedicated blog post.
Trans Canada Trail East of Halifax – Bike Trail
An 80 km route — mostly on multi-use trails — from Halifax to Meaghers Grant. We’ve mapped this out based on Google, but as we are learning — it may NOT all be passable by bike.

Cobequid Trail – Bike Trail
A 20 km out-and-back trail near Truro, Nova Scotia. The trail is nice and flat and offers amazing views of the Bay of Fundy. We’ve done it many times, including as the final ride of our memorial trip.

Atlantic Canada
Magdalen Islands – Bike Trip
A 6-day bike camping trip on the Magdalen Islands (Iles de la Madeleine) as part of a larger memorial ride. We biked from one end to the other, but had some help from the local bus. We covered 170km in total and had a great time taking in the spectacular views.

Eastern PEI – Bike Trip
A 5-day bike camping trip in eastern Prince Edward Island. We biked to/from the Souris ferry terminal so that we could enjoy some time on the Magdalen Islands. We biked 240 km in total — about half on the road and half on the Confederation Trail.

British Columbia
Broughton Archipelago – Kayak Trip
A six-day, 100 km, guided kayak tour through a group of islands to the north west of Vancouver Island. Smokey skies limited our exploration, but still an unforgettable trip!

Lake Cowichan, BC – Bike Trip
A six-day, 200 km, bike touring trip from Victoria to Lake Cowichan. Most of this ride was done on trails with a couple local roads and ferries thrown in.

Three week tour through Europe – Bike Trip
A three week bike trip through Europe, where we completed segments of EV5, EV8, EV17 (ViaRhôna) and the Swiss Route 9 (Lakes Route).

Acadia National Park (Maine) – Bike Trails
We spent a couple days camping in Acadia National Park and explored almost all of the carriage road bike trails while we were there.

We travelled to Martha’s Vineyard by ferry and spent a few days exploring the trails on the island.
