Magdalen Islands – Bike Trip

A 6-day bike camping trip on the Magdalen Islands (Iles de la Madeleine) as part of a larger memorial ride. We biked from one end to the other, but had some help from the local bus. We covered 170km in total and had a great time taking in the spectacular views.

Eastern PEI – Bike Trip

A 5-day bike camping trip in eastern Prince Edward Island. We biked to/from the Souris ferry terminal so that we could enjoy some time on the Magdalen Islands. We biked 240 km in total — about half on the road and half on the Confederation Trail.

Cobequid Trail – Bike Trail

A 20 km out-and-back trail near Truro, Nova Scotia. The trail is nice and flat and offers amazing views of the Bay of Fundy. We’ve done it many times, including as the final ride of our memorial trip.

Canal de Garonne (France) – Bike Trip

A 2-day, 75 km bike trip along the Canal de Garonne from Moissac to Toulouse. A peaceful, relaxing journey spent pedalling slowing, eating pastries and drinking wine.

Trans Canada Trail East of Halifax – Bike Trips

An 80 km route — mostly on multi-use trails — from Halifax to Meaghers Grant. We’ve mapped this out based on Google, but as we are learning — it may NOT all be passable by bike.

Harvest Moon Trail – Bike Trips

A 110 km multi-use trail from Grand Pré to Annapolis Royal. The route is part of the “Blue Route” in Nova Scotia, but trail conditions aren’t suitable everywhere for hybrid bikes.

A six-day, 200 km, bike touring trip from Victoria to Lake Cowichan. Most of this ride was done on trails with a couple local roads and ferries thrown in.

A six-day, 100 km, guided kayak tour through a group of islands to the north west of Vancouver Island. Smokey skies limited our exploration, but still an unforgettable trip!
